POUR OVER BREW GUIDE

POUR OVER

Pour over means that the water passes through the coffee, extracting flavor as it goes through. It is a more hands on experience to the traditional auto drip coffee maker.

You will need: Coffee Dripper, Coffee Filter, Kettle, Grinder, Scale (optional), Cold Filtered Water, Fresh BOLD3 coffee.

Brew ratio: 1-2 tablespoons of coffee to every 6oz. of water. If using scale, 30g of coffee to 600g water.

Grind level: medium (sea salt consistency)

Brew time: 2.5 - 3min.

STEPS

1.) Heat cold, filtered water in kettle to 200 degrees.

2.) Rinse filter under hot water while water is boiling.

3.) Grind BOLD3 coffee just before brewing. 1-2 tablespoons of coffee to every 6oz. of water. If using scale, 30g of coffee to 600g water. Adjust to your preference.

4.)  Once water reaches boil, allow to stop boiling (ideal temp. 200 degrees). Pour a small amount of water over ground to wet them and wait 30 sec. for them to "bloom" and release the desirable elements.

6.) After grounds bloom, slowly pour remaining water over grounds using circular or back-and-forth motion as you pour for even soaking.

7.) Once coffee amount is reached, lift the filter out and discard.

8.) Pour your heavenly handcrafted coffee into your favorite mug. Ahhhhh, heavenly. Praise Jesus!

EXTRA TIPS: If you were not happy with the end result - try changing the grind level.  If the coffee is bitter, it may be over extracted and need a slightly coarser grind. If coffee is weak or sour, try grinding more finely.
