Lord, you love me.

Lord, you love me.

April 10, 2024

As I was rocking my daughter one night, I was praying for God to comfort me and fill me with His love. I was in a season of a lot of anxiety, fear, and pain. I felt lonely and unsure of myself as a mom. In that moment, I sensed Him say to me: "Just as you love your daughter and hold her tight, I do that for you too." He does the same for me, and for you. It changed my heart that day. I sat in that rocking chair and declared: "I am loved by you. I am held by you, Lord." When God whispered those words above to my weary and anxious mama heart, I found rest in His Love. After all, we are His children too!

Just as our children need us to comfort them when they scrape their knee, we need our Heavenly Father to comfort us when we fall. Just as our children want to be loved, God wants to lavish His Love on us. Just as our children want to celebrate, God wants to celebrate with us! The greatest evidence of God's Love for us is found in sending His One and Only son, Jesus Christ. When we need to be reassured of God's Love for us, look to the cross. Look to Jesus. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). He didn't love us for what we could do for Him, He sent Jesus, because He loves us. "We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19) Plain and simple: God loves you. Author and Faith Radio Host, Susie Larson often says, "Many Christians live knowing they are saved, but not knowing they are loved." It's easy to lose sight of the core truth that we are loved, but declare this: "Lord, you love me." Let the Holy Spirit comfort you in your pain, celebrate with you in your joys, and transform you by changing the way you think. God's Love for us doesn't change based on our performance or behavior. We can't do anything to earn His Love. Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38) Praise God! God's love is perfect, selfless, patient, kind, truth-filled, not easily angered, and holds no records of wrongs. Thank you Lord for Your Love and Truth! Rest in His love today.

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"  John 3:1a

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Jeremiah 31:3

Resting in His love,
